He rolled over on his own!

July 04, 2025
(Picture taken after assessing the situation)

It was one of those usual morning, I had fed him earlier and it's getting bright.. So I just woke up naturally - to a shocking sight! He was on his tummy! I panicked and straight away went to assess, see his condition and guess what? It was a perfect tummy time. He was on his tummy, both hands tucked neatly under his chest, giggling and smiling at me, so proudly.. MasyaaAllah tabrakAllah. Yes we have been practicing rolling but always under our supervision.

I wanted to scream but tried not to. I don't wanna give him unnecessary negative vibe ; scared, worried, while in fact he was fine on his own. But of course at his age, he shouldn't be rolling on his own since he is still tuning his skill, especially he hasn't mastered on how to turn back to his back. It's not safe to be on his tummy all the way sleeping.

So I troubleshoot what could have been "caused" him to roll on his own (which I see as an achievement, though). I think it's because after I fed him earlier in the morning, I have removed his swaddle and he is only in his sleeping bag with his arms out. And his mattress was a littleeee inclined to the side. I guess these has provided enough momentum for him to roll on his own.. Why he is on the mattress? Cause he hates the cot and he there's no enough space for us three to sleep together.. So for the time being lets us just sleep on the floor until he's strong enough to kick us from the bed.

Oh god if only he knows how freaked out I was..

Beautiful Cowboy

June 13, 2025
It was supposed to be Boku's sixth weeks check up but somehow I got mixed with my own and his appointments so.. Here he is at eleventh week. Since our GP is pretty near, just a park away, we walked there which took us not more than 10 minutes. In his pink G-wagon of course.

It was a warm day, around 16 degrees with sun and blue sky minus the wind. Boku got his zipped onesie and a hat, ready for the walk! There was a grandpa walking from our neighbourhood, he walked pretty fast for his age. He was leading in front however maybe he realised we were trying to catch up (or so he thought?), he noticed us at the GP entrance and let us pass through.. I didn't really matter though but I kinda felt bad. Did I walk too fast that he thought he was blocking us..?

Anyway we got to the GP just in time for the 2.40 pm appointment. I saw this one grandma with striking red lipstick and a thin powder on her face. Boku was in line and the grandma came to us, said to Boku with a high pitched voice,

"Hello beautiful cowboy!"

Oh Boku was thrilled. He just reached the milestone of smiling to everyone with his cute cooing.. A chatty boy I must say. I have seen many babies, but they were sick. I thought I know babies enough but no. I guess you'd never know about babies until you had one of yours yourself. This one kept growing bigger and bigger everyday. I'm lucky to notice all the little milestones.. I remind myself to find the new things he does everyday. You never ceased to amaze me.

While waiting to be called.. There was about 5 groups of people in the waiting room. A toddler girl came and said hi to Boku. Then one by one person was called, left with us and another two. Boku decided to shart loudly. Definitely a poo followed by fart. We just awkwardly loaughed and look at Boku while I (definitely) think the other two groups of people around us looked at our direction.. Maybe I can fart loudly now in public and blame Boku for it. Heh.

Anyway, he passed the appointment! All the physical examinations were normal. Boku was all chatty with the GP, he kept talking non stop. It's better to have a cheerful baby that who kept talking than a crying one.. He loves it when people respond to him. He's got his parents talking back to him 24/7, after all..

Stinky little baby

June 10, 2025

(TW: Don't scroll down if you can't tolerate scare jump of poop picture!)

For the past one week, he has been pooping lesser. Usually it was almost 4-6 times a day, probably every after meal. Well this is what I have been taught when I was working.. So I expected that. Kinda forever thing? But I was wrong! I learnt that baby poops less frequent if they are breastfeed..

So he has been pooping 4 times a day, then down to 1.. Until he did not for a day. But his tummy was soft non tender (iykyk) no mass palpable, passing flatus as his usual.. He was happily taking milk as well so I just observed.

The second day passed, he did not poop as well! But he seemed perfectly fine.

It was a beautiful sunny day so we went ahead with our plan to go to St Abbs at Eyemouth, it's around 2 hours drive from home. His first road trip. This is for another story I shall write.

Right before heading home.. He finally pooped! The amount was not bad. Above the average, beautiful yellowish poop. Okay we were content that he finally pooped.

I thought he was done for the day - no. On the way of journey, I kinda smelt some poop.. I brushed it off cause I thought it was from the earlier on. It is still inside the car cause Z thinks we shouldn't discard the nappy at the public toilet.. Is it? I don't agree. We dropped by the Lidl to get something.

As we reached home, I decided to check. The smell didn't settle.

I was right! THIS TIME IT WAS MASSIVE.

No, this can't be cleaned. This needed a proper shower.

Thank you for pooping my love.. May you continue to poop healthily!

Someone got his vision and laughter

May 23, 2025

A stomach bug struck Z and me three days ago, completely out of the blue. Our bellies were in full-on revolt. I couldn't stop laughing.

Since there are only three of us in the house, any noises made by living things are amplified! Apart from repetitive trips to the washroom.. A little ache but our laughter makes it better.

We couldn't help but burst out laughing since it was hilarious.

We were literally giggling with laughter.

Usually it was only Boku-chan's noises, but now everyone's tummies are rumbling.

We were holding Boku-chan, laughing uncontrollably, that's when suddenly he ceased. He stared at us intently, eyes wide open, and..

HE CHUCKLED!

He laughed with the most adorable little "Ha" as his eyes narrow and his mouth opens wide in a half-smile.

It's as though he suddenly able to see us clearly.

He put his happiest face ever.. Finally, an eye contact I am sure of from him.

How do I explain this fuzzy feeling? I never knew someone can look at me so deeply in my eyes.

He's looking into my soul AND a laughter.. All within few days.

Ah, melts my heart every time he does it.

Boku-chan dah 4 minggu!

May 03, 2025

Baru je hari tu lepas minum susu, terus lena. Sekarang mata dah bulat, pandang kanan kiri, fokus mentelaah muka orang yang pegang dia.

Mata nak ikut je punca bunyi atau cahaya, walaupun kepala berat nak gerak.

Dah 4 minggu maknanya Ummi dia kena mula serius siapkan kerja Masters. Ada assignments yang tertunggak, kena langsaikan balik. Fizikal rasa dah hampir kembali seperti biasa, mentally je lah mungkin ambil masa sikit lagi.. Kita salahkan hormonal imbalance. Hehe

Alhamdulillah sistem pendidikan kat sini sangat supportive dan memahami. Kemudahan pun banyak untuk kita belajar tanpa hadir in person ke kelas.

Dah 4 minggu juga bermaksud Atok & Nenda dah nak balik Malaysia.. :(
